Is this a full Ala-Kul trek?

No. The classic Ala-Kul trek is a hard three day crossing over a 3,900 metre pass. Our trip is built around a horse ride toward the lake and nights at the Altyn Arashan hot springs, which is far more accessible. If you want the full trekking crossing, tell us and we will build a dedicated version.

Do I need riding or trekking experience?

No riding experience needed, the horses are calm and a wrangler rides with you. You should be reasonably fit and comfortable with a few hours in the saddle and some altitude. This is rated hard mainly because of the elevation and the long travel days.

What about the border crossing?

We handle the logistics and timing. Most nationalities cross both ways visa free, but you must carry your passport and check your own entry rules before booking. Border time varies, which is why this is a relaxed three days rather than a rushed two.
